Zions Wealth is a specialized division within the bank that offers comprehensive financial services to affluent, high-net-worth individuals, families, and businesses. These services often include personalized investment strategies, financial planning, estate and tax planning, business succession planning, and risk management. The primary goal of a wealth management group is to help clients grow and preserve their wealth while providing expert guidance to navigate complex financial situations and achieve their long-term financial objectives. Zions Wealth is a strategic focus for Zions Bancorporation, an organization that expands across eight affiliate banks in the Western United States.
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Wealth Planning Strategist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial planning, estate planning, wealth transfer planning, family office services, risk management, and business succession planning. This role involves working closely with current and prospective clients to develop and implement customized financial plans that align with their long-term objectives.
This position will primarily cover the Zions Bank market of Utah and Idaho, so Salt Lake City, UT is the preferred location. Qualified candidates in Phoenix, AZ or Denver, CO may also be considered but must be willing to travel.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Advise ultra-high-net-worth clients on a vast array of wealth management issues, including multi-generational estate planning, income and estate tax mitigation, business succession, charitable giving, life insurance, and asset protection.
- Develop trusted partnerships with Wealth Advisors, Private Bankers, and Commercial Bankers to earn introductions to highly valued clients and prospects.
- Participate in prospect meetings to augment discovery conversation and identify advance planning needs and opportunities.
- Determine appropriate level of service based on client’s situation and convey value of a fee-based wealth planning engagement when suitable.
- Collaborate with Wealth Planners and Senior Wealth Planners to effectively deliver and implement recommendations to fee-based engagement clients.
- Present on timely wealth, tax, and estate planning topics at client and prospect events.
- Actively cultivate a robust COI network, specifically estate planning attorneys, accountants, and appraisers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- CFP®, CPA, JD, or MBA preferred
- 10+ years of experience in financial, tax, or estate planning, specifically for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients
- Advanced knowledge of the Federal transfer tax system (Gift, Estate, and GST) and experience implementing wealth transfer strategies, such as IDGTs and SLATs
- Experience advising business owners through exit planning, including intrafamily transfers, key employee acquisitions, third-party sales, and IPO

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $180,000 - $200,000 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience and location.
